Social Networking and Web 2.0

Social Networking.. what's that?
Then how about Facebook and Friendster. Seems familiar now?
Yeah, those are one of the social networking websites used by many people throughout the world
According to Wikipedia, A social network is a social structure made of nodes (which are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, ideas, financial exchange, friendship, sexual relationships, kinship, dislike, conflict or trade.

Well, you wouldn't want to struggle just to understand that definition..
Simply, we know that in social networking, we make a network of relationships through the internet. We can share profiles, files, fotos, videos, and receive recent infos or status from our network of friends.
It's like making a society where the media is the internet. But not all cyber society can be considered as social networking..

So what does it have to do with Web 2.0? Well, social networking is a part of Web 2.0 where the web is more dynamic. So sharing, customizing, and community are some of the best words to describe Web 2.0.

In the early millenium, Friendster has become the most favourite social Networking..
It provides many features, and ables you to customize your own web page.

Then in 2004, Mark Zuckerburg founded Facebook. At that time, it was intended only to the students of Harvard. But then made it public in 2006.
Since then, the growth of Facebook has increased drastically. Up until now, facebook users had rised much more than friendster, and it is predicted by 2010, most people prefer using Facebook.

That fenomena has already happen in my Campus and my other friends. I myself made a Facebook account back in July last year, but at that time facebook was still rare among us. But approaching the end of 2008, one by one, my friends shifted from Friendster to Facebook due to the appearence of Web 3.0. Speed is the most consideration, and also, Facebook provides more applications and interactions between friends. Right now, Blogging has lessen because of Facebook. I haven't posted anything for a long time because of Facebook, and most of us have become addicted to it..

If you're new to the internet, and looking for something new, just join one of the social networking sites, and enjoy..!!
But do it in a reasonable proportion. We don't need to be addicted to social networking. Just do it to get it's use and benefit..
But be sure to be careful. In social networking, you share your infos to public. This is sensitive to information abusing because people can freely access your infos and use it. So just post reasonable and unprivate infos to your friends.

While the whole world is celebrating under magnificent fireworks and glamorous parties, peoples of the Palestine are dying...
Victims of lives have grown up to 400 in numbers including civilians.
Just when will this war come to end...??
New Year's Comin' Palestines Cryin'....
These tears just never stop...

To Palestines :
I'm sory, I could do nothing right now as your sibling.
Keep fighting!!! I wish you all the very best...
Insya Allah, victory will come to us...
Be patient, Allah's help will come.

Around the Globe on New Years Eve...

What did you do on New Years Eve?
If that question is addressed to me then you could say that I did nothin'...exiting.
As usual for these past 3 New years, I've spent it just at home(kos-kosan) watching TV and just hangin' around with some friends. It's kind of a habit since that's what I've been doing for the past 3 New Years. There were also some rain pouring down which made me don't feel like going out. We should not party around due to the strike in Gaza.

Well, you'll be bored to death if I tell you my activities, so let's just take a trip around the globe just to see what's goin' on there on New Years Eve...

Our first stop is Sydney, Australia. As always the Harbour bridge illuminates the sky with magnificent colorfull fireworks.

Twin towers of Petronas, the symbol of Malaysia. They're celebrating there too. Beautifull..

From Malaysia, we head to Hong Kong. One of the movie industry Cities. Fireworks coming out of one of the sky scrapers after the countdown...

Nippon has a literal meaning of "Originated from the Sun". This is the first sunrise of 2009 in Takeshiba, Tokyo, Japan.

Across the Pacific Ocean we go to the Latin Americas, where huge fireworks light up copacabana beach in Rio De Janeiro.

North to the United States in Time Square New York City. Always filled with millions of people waitin' for New Years Eve.

In Seattle, the Space Needle. See those fireworks bursting out?? Magnificent.

Across another Ocean we go. This time to Europe. In London from the London Eye, comes out colourfull fireworks. A spectacular view.

No fireworks at Jumairah Palm Island, Dubai. This is a solidarity due to the strike in Gaza... That's some good news.

There you go. We visited some places across the globe.
So, Happy New Year 2009. All the best..!!!

Do you still remember the big earthquake at the Indian Ocean? The one which triggered a tsunami, killing 225,000 and resulted one of the biggest natural disasters ever happened in history.
Well, that incident 4 years ago did not only affected my country, but others like Thailand,
Sri Lanka, India, and even the eastern coast of Africa.
This was a reminder for mankind...
How mother nature can be angry and wipe us out in a matter of seconds...
Here are some pics that i got just to briefly remind us of the incident...

Betty Edwards uses the terms L-Mode and R-Mode to designate two ways of knowing and seeing.
L-Mode = verbal, analytic mode.
R-Mode = visual, perceptual mode.

L-Mode is a step-by-step style of thinking, using words, numbers, and other symbols.
L-Mode strings things out in sequences like words in a sentence.

R-Mode uses visual information and processes, not step-by-step, but all at once, like recognizing a face.

Most problems or activities need to be solved by combining the left and right, but some require only one of them. Example : drawing.

Hi, I'm Gib...
and this is "Just one of my blogs"...
This is my first experience in blogging...
When i heard for the first time the word 'blog',
I couldn't come with anything in my mind.
But then when i knew what blogs are and it began to flourish,
people from all around the world began to write blogs...
and i realized that blogs can be an excellent media for anyone
to express themselves,,, you can "shout" anything to anyone without any limits...
But they can also open or shut their "ears" to what you shouted

Off course ethics are still required, although there aren't any formal ones...
So, right now anyone's dream to be a writer can come true, but then again what's the point of being a writer if no one reads your articles?
For those of you, who are often surfing the internet, I reccomend you writing a blog.
Even though you don't like writing. But writing is good.
It helps you in communicating your ideas and opinion.
I think everyone deserves and should be a writer. Either a professional writer or just writing anything you want.
But off course, your writings should have values in it, so that people will be attracted to read it.
Like I said before, someone becomes a writer if other people read their script.
